Modularization is a vital concept concerning to all modern programming languages. It is equally important for all modern platforms used to create websites together with applications. AngularJS has already grown into an acceptable platform with a very good supportive community under its spell. Before going into the details of how to modularize AngularJS applications, we can discuss what is modularization? And when AngularJS developers need it?
Modularization is not exactly a type for AngularJS developer, for them it is like a function. Things in an array may look the same, but it can be totally different in function. In this platform all the controllers, and directives defined by you function in the form of modules, hence modularization in AngularJS turns to be essential. Programmers usually group everything as component type, and when dealing with applications that are huge in size with long running codes, applications usually find no subsystem or filename to deal with the context of working. Here the best way to escape all troubles is by modularizing. Let us now check the ways of modularization in AngularJS.
1. First declare a module for your application by using the code, ‘ angular.module(‘myAPP’,[ ]). If you are using an upgraded version of AngularJS modularization becomes much easy.
2. Next task is bringing up of your application within the browser itself. Once the task is done, just define the subsystems. While defining subsystem, take care of the entire structure of the application.
3. Every part of your app can be considered as a bucket, and you can move all your front-end and back-end files to the bucket. For similar functionalities, we can create an exclusive bucket for all that alone. For multiple functionalities, we need to keep one bucket over the other.
4. Next task is the proper naming of buckets. Be clear about the entire filesystem, and sub directories you have assigned are named properly .
5. Specify all the files as ‘.js’ for better identification. Most important thing to take care is the proper moving of files based on the clear-cut titles you have already assigned.
6. Develop a ‘.js’ file relating to every directory you have created. While doing modularization in AngularJS, it is essential to follow a proper naming structure for very directories and sub directories you have developed.
7. Modification of all your files should be done. The ‘myApp module’ always remains as a small namespace, and it will help programmers for the easy identification of ‘.js’ files to modify.
8. Split the files that relate themselves to two modules having multiple functionalities at this point.
9. For loading Partials special paths to be defined, and that paths may usually need some alterations. Only needed path references should be altered. By injecting myModuleConst into components, and bringing it together with the controller’s $scope, a developer can save the time of alterations, as well.
10. Once you change your paths, the updates should be done on .js files to indicate the change of paths. Angular.js files should be loaded first and then module.js files should be added. If the files are not properly named some exceptions may also come up.
11. Include everything, even the needed third party modules to modify your myApp module.
12. Proper modularization will enable AngularJS developers to take any methods out of the modules they have created, and even modify it. It will also help them to do unit testing, so easily.
Conclusion
Modularization has many benefits. It helps developers to link the modules one another, even if it is created inside other modules. Making the unrelated modules available to the application is also possible with proper modularization. It assists developers in providing a proper meaning to the file system and directives(to get the details of directives that enhance your AngularJS application development, click here)defined in an application. Thus modularization proves to be helpful to the entire process of AngularJS application development.
